Still Need Lunch and Recess Volunteers

If you are able to sign up for a lunch/recess block consistently or periodically, the school would appreciate it. They plan to use these additional volunteers to help with different zones on the playground to provide additional support to students on the basketball court, soccer field and/or kickball field. Please click this link to sign up to volunteer.

Upcoming Events

New Community Service Projects Coming Soon (Sneak Preview!):

We have more hands-on projects coming up! In March we will have a volunteer session at a senior care facility in Bethesda. In April we have back-to-back events with manning booths at a foster care carnival at Greentree Shelter in Bethesda (also known as National Center for Children and Families) on April 6. Later in April, around Earth Day, we have an outdoor environmental clean-up activity. In May, we are giving back to animals.

These will be the last few events for the kids to collect some PAWS activities to put on their service records to get a certificate and surprise prize. As a reminder, kids will have to participate in 5 community service events to fulfill a full PAW. The class with the most "Paws" will get a donut party!

Mind Yeti for Seven Locks Students

Has your child come home talking about MindYeti?  MindYeti is an online resource program that brings mindfulness to kids. Through funding provided by the Seven Locks Elementary School Educational Foundation's grant program, Mrs. Steinberg has re-newed a subscription to MindYeti for SLES! While some of our teachers use MindYeti in the classroom, any SLES family can have access to the MindYeti program. If you are interested in using this fantastic program at home, please feel free to email Mrs. Steinberg (laurie_m_steinberg@mcpsmd.org) for information on how to access this program.

Looking for Future Kindergartners!
