BUDDY FAMILIES NEEDED! We have several new families waiting to be matched with a veteran Buddy Family. If you are interested in being a Buddy Family, please contact Sadaf.
Want to Volunteer on a PTA Committee or learn how to get involved? Perhaps you have a new idea for a program or event that you would like to launch at SLES with the PTA?
Review the current Volunteer openings and send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your interests to get connected with the appropriate chairs or team leaders.
We encourage every parent to give at least an hour a year to support the school!
(for 2017-2018 School Year)
The PTA offers many community service opportunities each year for the entire family.
Please volunteer your time for one of our great upcoming events:
This year we are making some changes to engage our young wildcats in more hands on community service activities and working on a "Wildcat Service Award" that students can work towards during the year to further our goals to nurture a culture of service at SLES.
email email@example.com to help out with the new program.
In-school volunteers are always greatly appreciated by faculty and staff. Please consider donating your time. Here are a few ongoing volunteer needs.
Serve as a Recess/Lunch Monitor:
The school needs 1-2 parents each day to serve as a lunch room and recess monitor to keep our lunchroom playground safe. This is a great way to visit your child during lunch and also a fun way to earn some extra cash! Seven Locks Elementary School has Lunch and Recess Aide positions open for the 2016-2017 school year. This is a paid position without benefits. Please contact Linda Kurinsky at (301) 469-1038 if you are interested.
Volunteer in your child's classroom.
Most grades and teachers need parent volunteers at least 1 to 3 times per week for an hour or more. Sign up to be a Room Parent! If you are interested in being a room parent in your child(ren)'s class, please email Margaret Carroll, our PTA Room Parent Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Classrooms will be looking for volunteers to help in each room. Please consider coming in a few times per year to help support our teachers and empower them to focus on teaching while you help take care of things they need assistance with. Please note, as classroom volunteers, you will not be tutoring students, only observing or helping with administrative tasks.
Help with backpack mailingsthat happen once a month. Linda and Sue always need more support here when its time to get flyers and handouts in all 400+ pack backs. The front office is looking for some volunteers to help during the first week of school with various other tasks as well. Contact Linda Kurinsky at Linda_N_Kurinsky@mcpsmd.org if you can help!
